Services:

At my firm, Altrium Consulting Services, our primary role is to provide expert witness review and (if necessary) testimony regarding nursing procedures, standards, documentation and care in the emergency, acute and critical care settings. We can research, analyze, and summarize pertinent hospital policies and procedures as well as review relevant national and international literature and guidelines regarding the appropriate standard of care.

In addition, we can prepare and furnish additional services in cases involving a wide variety of medical and surgical specialties, including:

> Medical Record Review (summation, simplification, chronologies, etc.)
> Review, summarize, and critique other case materials (e.g.: reports, interrogatories, depositions, etc.)
> Case Analysis (screen and review cases for merit)
> Expert Witness Assistance (research, identify, locate, and co-ordinate expert witness review and testimony)
> Attend and report on Independent/Direct Medical Examinations (IME/DME).

Fees:
Our standard fee is $150 per hour. See the attached fee schedule for more information.

Qualifications:

LNCC (Legal Nurse Consultant, Certified), RN, BSN, MPH, CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse), CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse), LNC (Legal Nurse Consultant), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), CLNC (Certified Legal Nurse Consultant; inactive)

Experience:

I am an active Registered Nurse with over thirty years experience providing care to a wide variety of medical and surgical patients, with certifications in both Emergency and Critical Care Nursing. In addition to having completed my certification as a Legal Nurse Consultant (Certified), I have almost two years experience as a professional liability investigator of potential medical malpractice cases, and more than five as the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Altrium Consulting Services, LLC, working (in roughly equal numbers) for both defendants and plaintiffs across the United States.

In addition to my work as a legal consultant, I am a nurse in a busy (45,000+ annual visits) urban Emergency Department, including shifts as a charge nurse, supervising up to two dozen nurses and ancillary personnel. I also work (on a per diem basis) as a nursing supervisor in a 400+ bed suburban hospital.
