Experience:
Richard Young is the general manager of Aquatic Commercial Consulting. He has operated public and institutional pools for over a decade and has been the sales and service representative for commercial pool equipment and operated a mechanical contracting firm working on hundreds of public, institutional, commercial and high-end residential pools and water parks for over three decades.
He has taught the Certified Pool Operator Course since 1985. He is the technical advisor to the Public Pool Operators of America and a member of many national industry associations. Rich often speaks at regional and national conferences. He has consulted on many dozens of legal cases, public, institutional commercial and private and worked as a legal expert witness on many. He specializes in swimming pool and water park accidents including, but not limited to: drowning and near drowning, diving and diving board accidents, water slide accidents, water-born illnesses such as legionella and e-coli, construction and code compliance and equipment failures.
