Evidence Room, LLC was founded with the mission of becoming a global leader in forensic animation and demonstrative evidence. Since 2001, the firm has specialized in creating highly accurate crime scene and shooting reconstructions using advanced 3D CGI technology.

Services include forensic animations, medical and surgical illustrations, trial exhibits, litigation support, and strategic consulting. With experience supporting more than 3,000 jury trials, Evidence Room’s work has addressed homicides, officer-involved shootings, vehicle pursuits, suicides, traffic collisions, explosions, workplace injuries, slip-and-fall incidents, and complex anatomical and medical issues.

Qualifications

Scott founded Evidence Room, LLC in 2001 and has since consulted on more than 3,000 cases across the United States and internationally. He has qualified as an expert in federal and multiple state courts in forensic evidence analysis, shooting and crime scene reconstruction, forensic animation, forensic photography, evidence collection, and video analysis.

His work is internationally recognized and has contributed to high-profile matters, including the Oscar Pistorius case, police-involved shootings, and major criminal proceedings. Scott has also consulted on suicide investigations, strangulations and hangings, medical and surgical reconstructions, motor vehicle accidents, workplace injuries, home explosions, and other forms of catastrophic injury litigation.

Professional Affiliations and Appointments

Scott was appointed to the Ethics Board of the Crime Scene Reconstruction Association of America in April 2024. He is a member of the Police Policy Studies Council (PPSC), the International Association of Forensic & Security Metrology (IAFSM), and the Association for Crime Scene Reconstruction (ACSR). He is an associate member of the International Association for Identification (IAI) and the International Homicide Investigators Association (IHIA).

He also serves as an affiliated forensic animation consultant with Martinelli & Associates.

Scott has completed coursework at Georgetown University and maintains ongoing professional education through accredited forensic and legal programs. His background combines scientific training with courtroom-focused visual communication, allowing him to translate complex forensic evidence into clear demonstrative exhibits.

Education and Specialized Training

Scott has completed extensive accredited training in forensic science and crime scene investigation. This includes bloodstain pattern analysis through Bevel, Gardner & Associates, shooting scene investigation and SWAT best practices through the Public Agency Training Council, and advanced crime scene investigation through the National Forensic Science Technology Center.

Additional training includes homicide investigation techniques through the International Homicide Investigators Association, shooting scene reconstruction at the University of New Haven, forensic pathology for investigators, and certification in crime scene investigation fundamentals. He also holds a paralegal certification from the Ohio Institute for Legal Studies.

Publications, Speaking Engagements, and Media Appearances

Scott is a frequent speaker, educator, and media contributor. He has lectured at Cleveland State University on “The Art and Science of Demonstrative Evidence in Litigation,” focusing on transforming courtroom presentations into structured crime scene narratives.

He has presented CLE programs for myLawCLE on visual evidence admissibility and strategy under new evidentiary rules, co-sponsored by the Federal Bar Association. Scott has also appeared as a featured expert on Netflix’s Unsolved Mysteries (2023) and contributed to the Surviving the Survivor podcast covering the Idaho Murders (2022–2023).

His media work includes interviews and expert commentary for Newsy’s Morning Rush, FOX 8 News (Cleveland), CBS News / 48 Hours, Channel 7 Australia’s Sunday Night Spotlight, and Investigation Discovery. Academic and legal contributions include Georgetown University’s Making an Exoneree program, the University of Texas School of Law mock trial program, and presentations for bar associations and prosecutor offices nationwide.

Scott is a Certified CLE Instructor with the Ohio Supreme Court and has served as a presenter for institutions including the Irish Law Foundation, the Henry C. Lee Institute of Forensic Science, Michigan State University College of Law, and multiple state and county bar associations.

Books and Scholarly Contributions

Scott contributed as both an illustrator and subject-matter expert to Prevention of Officer-Involved Deaths, authored by Dr. Henry Lee, Dr. Cyril Wecht, Van Blaircom, and Melvin Tucker. His work focused on forensic visualization and evidence interpretation.
