Services:
Mr Al-Tamimi delivers a meticulous and thorough medico-legal service in a timely fashion within his
area of clinical expertise since 2018. Areas of interest include personal injury and clinical negligence
claims involving cranial and spinal neurosurgery. Specifically this includes:
Head injury, neck and back injury, spinal surgery, cranial surgery, neuro-oncology, skull base
surgery, vascular surgery and subarachnoid haemorrhage, meningioma surgery and whiplash.
Clients are assessed within two weeks of instruction and all reports are completed within 6-8 weeks
of receipt of all medical records and scans. Consultation venues include Sheffield, Manchester,
Birmingham, Leeds and Derby although travel to other cities is possible (UK wide).
Reports not requiring client assessment are completed within 6-8 weeks of receipt of medical
records/scans although fast-tracked services are available upon request.
Clinical negligence work commenced in 2018 with an approximate Claimant:Defendant:SJE split of
85:10:5. Virtually all cases have settled and so there is no civil court attendance to date. Full
training in court procedure/cross examination has been completed. Mr Al-Tamimi has approximately
20-25 new cases per year.
Reports include breach of duty, causation and condition and prognosis. reports are also offered.

Experience:
Mr Al-Tamimi completed medical training in 2002 and graduated with honours from the University of
Leeds. He gained membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England following training in
Preston and Cambridge. He was subsequently placed onto a post-graduate neurosurgical training
program in Leeds General Infirmary and gained entry to the specialist register for Neurosurgery in
2013. He subsequently completed a fellowship in skull base neurosurgery in Salford Royal NHS
Foundation Trust.
He was appointed as a consultant in skull base and oncology neurosurgery at Sheffield Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in December 2014 in a substantive position with a specialist interest in skull base surgery and neuro-oncology. Other commitments include major trauma centre configuration and spinal surgery.
