Archery . 1955 started shooting archery. 1964-1967 took some mechanical classes applicable to archery at Colorado State University. 1984 attended Olympic archery competition as a spectator.. 1991 set up private archery course with 3 D targets. 1996- on: instructs private archery lessons.
Case topics include: 3D range safety-researched all US archery major organization rules. Archery treestand harness-researched harness manufactures methods and similar products. Face injury blamed on bow design case. Consulted on several cross bow case. Appropriateness of children on range response came from position of public school official, parent, youth archery instructor, youth program manager, and researching major organization rules. Carbon fiber arrow failure - manufacture or user cause, various cases.
Extensive experience with carbon fiber arrow personal injury cases of different manufacturers including investigating way arrows are used as well as care given to them.
Scholastically he has undergraduate degrees and many hours of on going graduate work. He has been accepted as an expert witness in civil and criminal cases.

He earned the first Master Fellow degree in 2012 of the 3,000 member Wilderness Medical Society. This degree helps him with depth of understanding in much of the recreational industry His years of public speaking and clean cut western appearance help him when taking the stand to testify. He has reviewed over 3,000 outdoor businesses in the US, Canada and abroad as a risk manager.
He has worked on cases from coast to coast as well as out of the USA. Often he can review a case and offer an opinion without travel expense. He offers a free initial review.
Mr. Weil has been able to determine through his investigative questions as well as inspection methods of arrows, bow and targets possible reasons of failure. He has pioneered testing with engineering laboratories. His strong mechanical background which includes Gunsmithing, gives him a wide prospective that other archery experts may lack. He has handled product liability cases including hunting tree stand equipment, bow design including compound and cross bows as well as arrows. His familiarity with safe archery practices gives counsel the opportunity to find deviation from good risk management procedures. This familiarity is based on both extensive research and first hand experience over 40 plus years as well as archery practices in and out of the USA. Most noticeably he has competed in the Himalayas in the kingdom of Bhutan where archery is the national sport. His personal archery experience dates back to his first long bow in the 1950s. He has case work in many states including Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, Virginia, Missouri, Texas and Ohio He has experience running and using archery ranges. This extends from the Olympics to competitive 3D to camp archery facilities. He has advised in cases in most of these areas including instruction and children on archery courses. He started ridding at the age of three and has been involved in most every aspect of the Western and English horse world. He is experienced with all aspects of horse insurance as well as practical skills from vet work (having attended classes at Colorado State University) to farriering (having been taught by a 10Th Mountain Army farrier). He has worked with horses and mules on the range, in the arena, driving, ridding, and showing as well as with appraisals. He has designed safety liability programs as well as property insurance programs for over a dozen insurance companies. He has written articles in several horse magazines as well as having been quoted in magazine and book articles in the safety and risk management field. He has been a medic at numerous horse shows on local and national levels. He has done risk management reviews of hundreds of business in this field. Born on horse Cavalry post WWII. 2. 1945-to present raised on and lived on cattle ranches with registered horse breeding operations. 3. 1966-1970 took agricultural classes at Colorado State University. 4. 1984 to 1989 raised numerous national cattle champions. 5. Worked on various (Sand hills, South park, Elbert county, Walsenburg, Jefferson county, Mesa County,) cattle ranches in Nebraska and Colorado. 6. Case topics include: Liability issues regarding livestock [bovine, sheep, pigs, bison, horses] with various guest and operational ranch cases. Liability issues regarding fencing issues and animal containment. Injuries aspects from animals, including bull attack. Valuations, including lots and individuals horses. Ranching practices. Safety lay out of design operations. Mr. Weil was raised on family ranches in Nebraska and Colorado prior to having his own ranch raising a national championship herd of Scotch Highland Cattle. He received a Bachelor of Science from the State Agriculture School at Colorado State University. With his Universality training and his decades of practical ranch experience he has been helpful to many cases in this field. He is familiar with guided hunts as well as drop camp hunts by horse, foot as well as recreational vehicles. He is a current NRA instructor having received his first certificate as NRA instructor in 1967. He was a competitive national marksman in the USMC as well as club and collegiate competition. He has been a worker, range master as well as instructor on civilian and military ranges. Mr. Weil has worked with camps since his early child hood. These camp experiences include military, religious, organizational, youth as well as adult camps. His first job after obtaining his second collage degree was directing the Colorado State 4H camp.

Rock Climbing / Climbing Gyms / Mountaineering 1. Climbing since late 1980s. 2. Taught climbing in Boulder Colorado for four years 3. Climbed on four continents. 4. Guided on four continents. 5. Climber over two dozen 14,000 mts and several taller in the Himalayans and Mexico. 6. Provided planning for numerous groups doing mountains. 7. Case topics include: School climbs and trips, including student death on 14,000 Climbing gear law suits. Belaying accidents in and out of climbing gyms. Ice climbing death. Morbidity on mountaineering trips, guided and unguided. Mr. Weil started solo trips in the mountains when he was in grade school. He has covered mountains of the US coast to coast on both foot and horse back. He has been a team member in 2 Everest expeditions. He has traveled to and on mountains in USA, Mexico, Asia, New Zealand as well as Europe. He has also guided in these areas.
From 1988 to 2001 he was a professional member of the American Mountains guides Association as well as the organizations Risk manager. He has been a safety speaker on numerous occasions. He has taught mountaineering as well as rock climbing and Leave No Trace Trainer programs. He holds a Master of Leave No Trace. His training has included many professional courses such as a nine day roped rescue course from AMSAR, the historical rope rescue leader for whom he was risk manager for 14 years. He took a graduate school class in rope and challenge courses to have better understanding of this sub field. As a Marine he in earlier days worked out on what today are fitness skill or challenge course or obstacle courses at Camp Pendleton, Parris Island and Quantico . He started the first insurance program to insure rock climbing gyms and mountaineering in 1988. He worked with the first climbing gyms and provided forms to the industry. He was an American Alpine Club member at the founding meeting of one of today's climbing groups the Access Fund. He was an early member of the Outdoor Recreation Collation of America and The Climbing wall Group (CGA) which later became the Climbing Wall Association(CWA) He then developed Mountaineering insurance and guiding programs. He has done underwriting, risk management and program development for 11 insurance companies. He developed both forms and safety guidelines in this field. Many of the professional groups still use his work product. . Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Having started teaching in 1967 after taking all the associated university class in that field he remains still in the class room as well as in the protocol management field. He has been an EMT Training Director since mid 1990s and is still an NREMT training Director.
He has taken various university classes in biological sciences and has a 40 plus year career in emergency medicine services having taught his first wilderness medicine class at Colorado State University in 1967. He took his first EMT course in 1972 and continues to work in the emergency pre hospital care field.
He has the experience of work over 3 decades at Denver General Hospital and many other hospitals as well. He started the Elizabeth Colorado Ambulance company with a personal loan. The Elizabeth Ambulance went on to become a part the Elizabeth Fire district. He had the opportunity to work on several ambulance companies as well as starting the second EMS council in the state of Colorado. He has trained numerous rescue, fire department, military EMS and ambulance company personal for the past decades. He has written numerous training documents and risk management protocols since 1988. He has run a Wilderness Advanced Life Support Course for many years which includes a cadaver lab that he directs. He has taught classes to many physicians. His teaching venues include colleges, universities, clinics, seminars and medical schools during the last decade. He has done consultation and education work for pharmaceutical companies. He was the first non physician to earn a Fellowship from the Academy of Wilderness Medicine. As of 12 - 2012 there are 300 Fellows and 900 candidates. He is the first of 3,000 WMS members to earn the Master Fellow degree (alpha designation). He had the unusual experience to have spent over 10 years as consultant to the largest EMT insurer who also insured ambulances that he consulted on.
