Experience:
With more than twenty years of industry experience, Mr. Schiettecatte has designed and implemented complex software and hardware systems across commercial and research environments. He is the founder of Percussa, a consumer electronics and professional audio technology company, where he led the development of multiple commercial products.
He is also the founder of Noisetron LLC, a software and hardware engineering and expert witness consulting practice. Representative projects include the development of real-time computer vision software used to control audio DSP algorithms, as well as the design and implementation of algorithmic trading software featuring low-latency exchange connectivity for financial markets.
His work also includes the creation of a GPU-accelerated data visualisation software written in C++ using OpenGL, developed to analyse very large exchange market data sets efficiently. In addition, he has designed and implemented audio DSP modules and modular synthesis engines for advanced sound generation and audio processing applications.
Further engineering experience includes the development of a Linux-based multichannel audio DSP platform and the design of wireless protocols together with custom input devices for tangible user interface systems.
Mr. Schiettecatte has also served as a teaching assistant at both Leuven Catholic University (KUL) and Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), where he instructed graduate students in information theory and digital signal processing.
