Registered member of Architects Registration Board (ARB). Registered member of Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) with Chartered Practice status. Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Member of the Academy of Experts. Member of the Society of Expert Witnesses. Listed on the RIBA panel of Architect Expert Witnesses.
I qualified as an Architect in 1980 and formed my own practice in 1984 as an independent Architect, specialising in the residential field of design for developers and private clients. New house projects have extended in size from small holiday bungalows through to large one-off houses in the �1m plus bracket. Extensive experience in the design and management of house conversion and refurbishment projects, including a large number of Listed buildings and other period properties, together with numerous extensions and alterations with contract values ranging from 15,000 to 800,000 GBP. I also have experience with smaller commercial and educational projects.
I have extensive experience with Planning negotiations, formulating and presenting planning and Listed building applications and appeals, including appearing at both formal and informal hearings.
I am experienced with Party wall negotiations and disputes, particularly in London.
I have undertaken Expert Witness work since 1992. I am an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a member of the Academy of Experts and the Society of Expert Witnesses. I am experienced in the examination of drawings, and the evaluation of documentary and site evidence and the preparation of Expert Witness reports, both in an advisory capacity prior to proceedings and in connection with legal proceedings. Expert reports have been undertaken both as a party expert witness and as single joint expert. I have High Court (Technology and Construction Court) experience. The majority of my work in this field is concerned with evaluating the performance of architects and other designers in a construction dispute situation.
