For over 17 years, I have been the CEO and President of SIMCO Correctional Consulting, LLC, where I have personally provided correctional advocacy, consulting, and expert witness expertise to a wide range of clients. Prior to this role, I served as Assistant Director of the West Central Community Action Agency, a contract agency for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Resources, where I gained additional experience in program management and oversight.
My leadership roles in correctional facilities include more than one year as Warden at the Correctional Corporation of America’s Northeast Ohio Correctional Center in Youngstown, Ohio, and nine months as Warden at the Cornell Companies’ and GEO Group Great Plains Correctional Facility in Hinton, Oklahoma. In addition, I bring 21 years of correctional supervisory and management experience, along with 13 years of executive-level leadership as an Associate Warden, Warden, and Regional Director.
I also served as Regional Director for the Federal Bureau of Prisons’ Western Region for two years, overseeing 18 institutions, supervising all wardens, and managing 65 regional office administrators and staff. My work at the Bureau of Prisons Headquarters further strengthened my expertise, with responsibilities in training, policy development, crisis evaluation, crisis intervention, and auditing.
Today, I am widely regarded as an expert in correctional management, oversight, policy, and operations, with a proven record of leadership and integrity at every level of the corrections system.
