Qualifications:
I graduated with an MBBS from Xi’an Jiaotong University School of Medicine in 2002. I completed the PLAB examination to register with the General Medical Council in 2005. I gained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in 2011 and achieved the Respiratory Specialty Certificate Examination (SCE) in 2016.
In 2017, I was awarded the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Respiratory Medicine and General Internal Medicine by the Royal College of Physicians. I also hold a Postgraduate Certificate from Edghill University, completed in 2015. To enhance my medico-legal work, I undertook Bond Solon’s Excellence in Report Writing course in 2024.

Experience:
I am currently a Substantive Consultant in Respiratory Medicine at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust (ELHT), a position I have held since 2018. I am also a member of the Medical Leadership in Practice programme at Manchester University and the Northwest Deanery.
I have contributed to multiple published case reports, including as second author in Clinical Medicine (2013) on a case of Panton-Valentine leukocidin (PVL) pneumonia, and as first author in BMJ Case Reports (2011) on Swyer–James–McLeod’s syndrome complicated by pneumothorax.
In addition to clinical work, I have actively participated in several research trials such as the COVID RECOVERY Trial at ELHT (April 2020), the TAPPS Trial (June 2014), and the IPC plus Trial (May 2014) at Royal Preston Hospital. I also led a study on the ‘pleural biopsy success rate with coaxial needle’, which was submitted to the Winter BTOG conference in 2012, and co-authored a study on pleurodesis success rates in day case versus inpatient settings.
