Jack Chapin is a forensic economist, providing financial analytics, valuation and expert testimony for lawyers representing clients throughout the litgation process. He has been a Litigation Services practice leader for two Big Four Firms since 1979. He formed his new firm in 1998, after reaching the mandiatory retirement age for partners at Coopers & Lybrand LLP, now merges as PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, where he was Partner-in-Charge of Litigation & Claims Services for Chicago and the Midwest Region. He has been responsible for over 900 engagements in 40 cities, coast to coast, testifying over 50 times.
He has arbitrated over 75 matters for the AAA, NASD, NFA, and NYSE as well as chaired several private arbitration matters. He teaches select Litigation Services seminar subjects for the AICPA, ABA, and IMC USA nationally, as well as several state and local societies.
He attended DePauw University, Greencastle, IN and received his BSBA and MBA from the John N. Olin School of Business, Washington University in St. Louis. He was selected Class Marshall. He completed the Advanced Industry School of Banking and Finance at Rutgers - The State University of New Jersey along with several advanced management courses at while at IBM. He evolved and taught Management Development for CDC.
He is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and a Certified Management Consultant (CMC); a memeber of Omicron Delta Kappa, the Panel of Arbitrators of the American Arbitration Association (AAA), the Board of Arbitrators of the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD), the National Association of Certified Fraud Examiners; National Chairman (1994-1996) and Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants USA, Inc, (FIMC); past National Co-chair of the Council of Consulting Organizations, Inc. (CCO); an associate menber of the American Bar Association (ABA) and the National District Attorneys Associationi (NDSA). He is a practicing member of the Academy of Expert UK (MAE) as well as the Licensing Executives Society, Inc.
Jack is a forensic economist specializing in antitrust, intellectual property, consultants malpractice, liability analysis, telecommunications, breach of contract, valuations, damage claims analysis, computer/software failure, dealer/franchise disputes, post merger/acquisitions, IRS disputes, and office of general council reviews.
He is an experienced arbitrator, haveing chaired many cases as indicated above.
